All day event: Labor Day (Canada, USA) - On June 29, 1894, the U.S Congress voted Labor Day as a National Holiday to honor working people's contribution of labor. Campus is Closed. This calendar lists several religious holidays and cultural observances which may require scheduling consideration. Some are work-restricted and others are not work-restricted. This list is not all-encompassing. Faculty, staff, students, and administrators at Cal Poly Pomona may use this reference to aid in making reasonable accommodations in the scheduling of tests or examinations* and campus events.

11:00 AM to 2:00 PM - Bronco Student Center: Students, come explore part-time job opportunities at the Part-Time & Volunteer Fair. Students will have the opportunity to speak to a variety of employers about part-time employment and volunteer opportunities with organizations, both on-campus and off-campus. Students who receive work study are encouraged to attend.

10:30 AM to 2:30 PM - University Quad: Students don’t wait, get a jump start on finding the employer of your dreams!Your attendance to the Fall General Career Fair will provide you the opportunity to meet over 150 employers from various industries. These employers will be providing information about career opportunities, gathering resumes, and networking to find their next top recruits. Employer booths will be categorized by their industry or industry they are recruiting for. Each section is color coded and students are provided with a map which helps to navigate the event.

Cyber Security & Awareness Fair

10:30 AM to 3:00 PM - Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major: The theme for this year’s Cyber Security and Awareness Fair is about having fun with cyber and physical security. Music, masks, and beads welcome students, staff, and our local community members to learn about the risks of exciting new IoT devices, Cyber Threats, and physical threats for that aha moment when people realize a they might have a false sense of security that needs to be addressed. New this year, Medeco/Sargent Locks is providing a hands-on workshop on physical security. Students With an Interest in the Future of Technology (SWIFT) will be showcasing the “Internet of Things” for hands on peer-to-peer hacking demonstrations emphasizing ways to secure IoT new devices. In addition, we are proud to be holding our third annual Cyber Security & Forensics Research Poster Competition sponsored by ISACAs Los Angeles Chapter for students in the Southern California region with $1000 in prizes for the top posters. W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center Lecture

Wednesday, November 8, 2017 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM: Author Elizabeth Letts will speak about her New York Times bestselling book, "The Perfect Horse." The book tells about the heroic rescue of priceless horses from Nazi Germany during the closing days for World War Two. Arabian horses that were rescued were housed here in the old stables.
