My Research Interest

My research focuses on the areas of physical geography, Geographic Information Science (GIS), Climatology, and Environmental Sustainability. I have published work in these areas. My most recent publications include a co-authored Geography of California textbook (3rd Ed, 2017). I am the author of three chapters that focus on the physical environment and sustainability and co-author of three other chapters in the book. I've worked with students to get class projects published. A few of them were published on ESRI Map Book - the result of collaboration class projects in my Environmental Modeling with GIS class. I have chaired over a dozen mater thesis committees and served on another dozen as committee members. I worked with these master students in GIS and environmental sustainability based research projects.
