Pathways for First Time Freshmen for Fall 2018

This section will help explain the CAASPP EAP test results and use of multiple measures (ACT, SAT, and AP) for skills assessment and course placement recommendations into college-level English and mathematic courses at Cal Poly Pomona. 

The CSU developed a chart to help prospective students understand the various pathways to achieving college readiness.

Download the CSU Pathways to College Readiness here. Expansion of multiple measures for subsequent years will be released early 2018. 

High School Senior Instructions - Use of Pathways to College Readiness

1. Print the CSU Pathways to College Readiness. Download here

2. Print test scores of the CAASPP EAP, ACT, and SAT. Circle all test scores earned on the handout. 

3. Identify your highest test score for English. What status does the highest test score earned place you in? 

     a. If Conditionally Ready, verify with your high school counselor that you are completing an approved senior year experience and course is adopted in your high school's UC a-g course list for 2017-18. Please review the Conditionally Ready status section for approved courses and further requirements. 

4. Identify your highest test score for math. What status does the highest test score earned place you in?

     a. If Conditionally Ready, verify with your high school counselor that you are completing an approved senior year experience and course is noted as Advanced Mathematics in your high school's UC a-g course list for 2017-18. Please review the Conditionally Ready status section for approved courses and further requirements.
