HOW TO REGISTER FOR EARLY START:
Early Start is a two part signup process. Please be certain to complete both steps.
You must first designate which CSU campus you will be attending for the Early Start Program by clicking on the "Early Start" link also known as the "SMART PAGE" before you can enroll for Early Start classes in the Cal Poly Pomona enrollment system. You can access the Early Start link by logging into your home campus' Student Center; for Cal Poly Pomona students this will be BroncoDirect. Once you have accessed the "SMART PAGE", you will be prompted to select which CSU Campus you will be attending in the summer to begin and/or complete your remedial course work. Please see the detailed PDF instruction manual below for a step by step tutorial.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DESIGNATE ON THE SMART PAGE FOR CAL POLY POMONA STUDENTS:
After you have completed step 1, you will need to enroll in your Early Start courses via Bronco Direct. Please note that IT WILL TAKE TWO BUSINESS DAYS after making your designation through the Smart Page before you will be able to enroll in courses. Once the system has registered that you have completed the Smart Page designation process, you will see the "ENROLL IN EARLY START" link appear under the Academics area on your Student Center. Click the link and you may begin searching for the appropriate Early Start courses in the Bronco Direct "ADD" tab. Please see the detailed PDF instruction manual below for a step by step tutorial.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REGISTER FOR EARLY START CLASSES AT CAL POLY POMONA:
IMPORTANT: After July 15, 2015 you will be defaulted to your home campus and unable to make any other selection; at such point you will only be able to attend your home institution to participate in the Early Start Summer Program.
For Service Students who will be attending another CSU campus in the summer: Once you have selected which CSU Campus you will be attending in the summer to participate in the Early Start Program through the Smart Page site, the selected campus will contact you with further instructions on how to complete your course(s) registration. Please keep in mind this process may take up to two business days.
Your attendance at Freshmen Orientation is mandatory. In order to avoid missing any summer classes or any part of Orientation, it is recommended that you select an Orientation program date that does not conflict with your summer class sessions (when possible).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Orientation registration is done on a first come/first served basis, so please register as soon as possible to ensure you have no conflicts with courses, since sessions are filling up quickly. If you need to change your Orientation date, contact Orientation Services immediately. You will not be charged a fee to change your date.
