In Their Own Words
A few Cal Poly Pomona aggies share what their Cal Poly Pomona experience has meant to them.
Apparel Merchandising & Management
"I chose Cal Poly Pomona because I wanted the opportunity to study fashion business at a four-year university. As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew it was the school for me. The amazing landscape and dedicated faculty members made me certain that I would be content here while completing my degree. Cal Poly Pomona provides the opportunity to learn more about the subject that I love in a way that works for me. “Learn by doing” is often emphasized because it truly is SO important. I am certain that I have not only the knowledge, but the skills necessary to take on my future profession with confidence."
Animal Health Science
"Cal Poly Pomona lives up to its motto of “Learn by doing.” It is fast-paced, and the academic demands have brought me to a level of confidence and personal success I never would have thought possible for myself. Cal Poly Pomona is where I fine-tuned my love of education and animals, and it has provided me with life-long friends."
Food Science & Technology
"I chose Cal Poly Pomona initially because it was the only school in southern California to offer an undergraduate degree in Food Science and Technology. After visiting the school, I quickly fell in love with the scenery and the people.
My experience at Cal Poly Pomona has been wonderful. As a former Ag Ambassador, College of Agriculture Senator, Greek, and club president, this campus has fulfilled my every need. It provided me with leadership skills and the knowledge I need to enter the real world. More importantly, it has provided me with many friendships with peers, faculty, and staff. As my last quarter approaches, Cal Poly Pomona has become more than just a university to me, it has become my home."
Food Marketing & Agribusiness Management
"I chose Cal Poly Pomona because it offers an exceptional agricultural department, and provides that hands-on experience that I believe is necessary for future success. A lot of campuses do not provide animal units right on site, but here at Cal Poly Pomona you are just a few steps away from our horse, beef, sheep, and swine units. The College of Agriculture is very welcoming and provides a great sense of community that I am now pleased to be a part of. "
