AMM Professor Gets Recognition

Assistant Professor Jiangning Che

A textile industry group has recognized a Cal Poly Pomona professor for outstanding work advising its student chapter.

Jiangning Che, an assistant professor in the Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management, advises the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists’ on-campus student chapter.

“Without doubt, AATCC student chapter faculty advisors determine the success of the … chapter,” AATCC membership and publications Director Maria Thiry wrote in a letter.

Faculty advisors guide and encourage students to participate in AATCC activities, including awards programs, student competitions, applying for grants and scholarships, and contributing to publications.

AATCC is a nonprofit industry group that has represented the textile, apparel, and materials industries since 1921. It includes manufacturers, testing labs, consumer and retail organizations, government agencies, college and universities, and individual and corporate members in more than 60 countries worldwide.
