Sue Kaiser Class of 1984
College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS)
Sue Kaiser embarked on a life-long career as an educator beginning as a kindergarten teacher in 1980. After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in 1984 with a master’s degree in education and a special education credential, she has held numerous leadership positions including school principal, director of curriculum and instruction, and she currently is assistant superintendent of instructional services for the Monrovia Unified School District.
Professional and community organizations play a significant part in Kaiser’s core interest. She has chaired many committees in the local Association of California School Administrators (ASCA) region. Currently, she serves as the president of the state Curriculum and Instruction Council, providing leadership at local and state levels. In 2012, the ASCA recognized her excellence and named her the Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year.
Kaiser remains connected to Cal Poly Pomona, serving as an adjunct faculty member and, for three years, as a key member of the university’s Doctoral Program Advisory Committee.
Kaiser and her husband, Greg, are parents to four children: Tim, Matt (wife Erica), Carolyn and Christopher. They have one granddaughter, Sophia.
