The Kellogg Ranch Arena and the Sunday Shows

Arabian Horses Lined Up

Before Kellogg Ranch was built, Kellogg housed his horses at the Los Angeles Fair Grounds, stirring public curiosity and giving people a chance to see the beautiful. When he moved the horses to the stables he’d had built and opened the stables to the public, the media started to publicize the horses. People became more curious, prompting Kellogg to start a tradition called the Sunday shows. The Sunday shows were started to show off the Arabians, giving people a chance to see just how beautiful and intelligent these horses are. The shows were so popular that the tradition continues to this day. The Arabian Horse Center still hosts a show the first Sunday October through May to show off the breed and the students that work with them.
