NSSE 2014 Frequently Asked Questions

What is the NSSE?
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is a survey designed to capture how you spend your time on campus and what you feel you have gained from your classes, interactions with faculty and students, and other campus activities.

How do I know I’m eligible to take the survey?
You are eligible to take the survey if you are a currently enrolled first-year student or a senior and were enrolled during Fall 2013 and Winter 2014.

How do I take the survey?
Check your email and spam folder for a message from nsse@nssesurvey.org. The link to take the survey will be in this email.

How long does it take?
The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete.

What will the campus do with the data?
Cal Poly Pomona will use your responses to compare our campus engagement to other universities and observe trends in engagement over time.

Why should I complete the survey?
First, your answers will help assess our effectiveness in providing a campus environment that engages you. Second, your participation will make you eligible to win one of twenty $50 Broncobucks Gift Cards in our random drawing.

What’s so different about this survey?
Your responses tell us what you think about your college experience in detail and the results will guide us in making changes that improve the student experience.

How do I win 50 BroncoBucks?
You are entered automatically when you respond. We will hold randomized drawings for the prizes through the rest of the quarter—the earlier you respond, the better chance you have to win!
