Brownsville Four

Dates: March 9 - April 22, 2006

Not much is known about the artistic activity in extreme South Texas, especially the activity in Brownsville. One would think that a region full of Mexican culture would fuel much creativity and thus it would shine. The truth is that the area is remote and with that comes a sense of isolation. I have been noticing a sense of evolution in the visual arts and my goal is to present specific individuals who are working and developing contemporary art. The Brownsvile School is that voice which influences all other emerging artists in the area and to some extent defines the region.
