Ink and Clay is the Kellogg Gallery's annual, western states, competitive exhibition of ceramics, prints and drawings. 2011 marks the 37th year for this unique exhibition which is made possible through the generosity of Col. Jim Jones and the office of the University President, J. Michael Ortiz.
This year's exhibition was juried by Allegra Pesenti, Curator at the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and Kevin Wallace, Director and Curator of the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts in Ojai.
Featuring 103 artworks by 79 artists, Ink and Clay 37 is a show richly diverse in style, form, and content. From the traditional to the experimental, formal to expressive, and the personal to the political, this exhibition offers ample opportunities for aesthetic enjoyment, intellectual stimulation, and critical inquiry.
