Finding On-Campus Jobs
BroncoConnection is a 24/7 online job board containing on-campus, part-time, full-time, internship, co-op and volunteer opportunities posted by employers seeking to hire Cal Poly Pomona students and alumni. In addition, BroncoConnection provides access to Career Center events, such as career fairs, workshops and information sessions, and On-Campus Interviews
To sign into BroncoConnection for the first time, Enter your complete Cal Poly Pomona email address in the "Username" field. (Example: firstname.lastname@example.org) and your Bronco ID Number in the "Password" box. From the top navigation bar, click on the "Profile" tab to review and complete your "Personal Information", "Academic Information" and "Privacy" pages. (All fields marked with a red asterisk must be completed.) Upon completion of each screen, click on "Save Changes". From the top navigation bar, click on the "Jobs" tab to access job and internship postings. On-campus job postings require a Job Application PDF and may or may not require a resume. To add your resume, click on the "Documents" tab, then click on "Add New". Enter a title for the resume in the "Label" field, then click on "Browse". Select the document you wish to use, then click "Submit" Begin your job search on-line. Additional on campus jobs may be posted through Associated Student Inc. (ASI) or Foundation.
The CSU Chancellors Office has implemented background checks for all state workers (including student staff) whose positions are considered “sensitive”.
Sensitive positions are those that: Require access to “Level 1” data
- Require access to a facility master key
- Perform work involving regular or direct contact with minor children (including recreational camps.)
- Positions with access to stored criminal offender record information
- Positions with access to patient medical records, drugs, or medication
- Positions with access to controlled or hazardous substances
- Positions that require cash handling or the collection of credit card information will also require a credit check.
Non-Work Study Positions
Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 units, Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 4.0 units, International undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units, International graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 8.0 units
All non-work study student assistants are required to maintain a minimum overall GPA and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0. This information is verified each quarter by your supervisor.
The maximum number of work hours is 20 during the quarter. This amount still applies if working more than one position on campus.
Work Study Positions
The Federal Work Study program provides part-time employment to students attending institutions of higher education. The program helps student gain work experience. Students must complete a "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) by the March 2 deadline, indicate on the FAFSA that they want Federal Work Study and have calculated financial need. Federal Work Study funds are very limited and not all students who qualify will be awarded.
