Internships

About

Consistent with Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing approach to teaching, the CIS Department has a very active internship program coordinated by Professor Tobi West ( tobiwest@cpp.edu)

Intern students can be hired at any time of the year. Since Cal Poly Pomona is on a quarter system, the preferred employment starting dates coincide with the beginning of a quarter: September, January, or March.

The CIS 441 & 442 Internships classes are not offered during the summer session.

If adding the internship units causes you to exceed 20 units, you will need to submit a Petition to Exceed Unit Cap form found at   http://www.cpp.edu/~registrar/files/public/forms/ExceedUnitCap.pdf.  The College of Business Administration Student Success Center will no longer accept these forms unless they have been electronically filled in and has your written signature. Please keep in mind that the Department Advisor and the Department Chair need to sign the form prior to submitting the form to the College of Business Administration Student Success Center.

Please check with the CBA Student Success Center on the deadline for submitting the form. The CBA Student Success Center recommends that the unit cap petition be turned in by March 28th to allow time to complete the process. After the form is fully approved, you will need to take it to the Registrar's Office to add the class by the add deadline of April 2nd.
