How do I change my major?
Undergraduate students declaring a major for the first time or changing from one degree program or degree option program to another must complete and submit an approved Petition to Change Major Curriculum (PDF). Students may not change from a declared major to undeclared major status. Academic advising appointments and/or change of major meeting may be required to ensure that students have the potential to succeed in the select major. Students changing their major are subject to the major/minor requirements in effect at the time of the change.

If the major I want is very competitive, should I declare an easier major to get into the school and then transfer?
Wrong! Not only is that unethical, it is also not a smart move. If a major is very impacted, your chances of getting in as a transfer from a different major might be even harder than getting accepted in the first place.
