Service-Learning

Service-learning is an academic course where a service project or service experience is part of the overall grade. In the spirit of learning-by-doing, Cal Poly Pomona faculty, staff and students actively support and engage in service-learning activities that build meaningful and sustainable community partnerships.

UPCOMING FACULTY OPPORTUNITIES

Service-Learning Faculty Fellows ($1,000 Stipend plus a $1,000 Mini-Grant)

·        The program is designed to assist 5-7 faculty with integrating service-learning into a new course.

·         Applications can be emailed to clgonzalez@cpp.edu, faxed to (909) 869-4515 or hand-delivered to Building 1, Room 108.

·         Applications are due by Wednesday, November 1, 2017 by 5:00pm.

Service-Learning Mini-Grants (Up to $1,000 – a total of $12,000 will be awarded)

·        Grant applications are accepted for service-learning course project supplies, research and/or scholarship. 

·       Applications can be emailed to clgonzalez@cpp.edu, faxed to (909) 869-4515 or hand-delivered to Building 1, Room 108.

·         Applications are due by Wednesday, November 1, 2017 by 5:00pm.

BRONCOSERV

BroncoSERV is an online database that manages approved service-learning placement sites, tracks students’ placements and stores required forms for students’ service-learning activities. The forms students complete on BroncoSERV student forms can be accessed by faculty. The database currently lists all approved service-learning sites, uploadable service-learning agreements and site visit documentation. For questions or issues with BroncoSERV, please contact Christina Gonzalez-Salgado, Service-Learning Coordinator, at clgonzalez@cpp.edu or (909) 869-4574.
