Become a Teacher and Equip Students for Success
Cal Poly Pomona's post-baccluarate credential program will prepare you for the challenges met in the classroom and assist you to become teacher leaders at your school and in the community. Our programs are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and meet all state teacher preparation standards and Teaching Performance Expectations.
At Cal Poly Pomona, earning a teaching credential requires these six basic steps:
1) Initial CSU Graduate Application
2) Prerequisite Courses
3) Application to the Credential Program
4) Core Classes
5) Clinical Practice
6) Credential Reccomendation and other required certifications submitted
Once all steps have been completed, students will have completed the California State Requirements to earn a teaching credential.
Note: the university will transition to a semester-based academic year in fall of 2018. At this time the prerequisite courses will be absorbed into the program. Visit the Semester Conversion website to learn more about the timeline.
