FAQ

1. Who is eligible to enroll through Open University?

Open University allows non-admitted individuals to enroll in undergraduate and graduate level courses at CPP. Registration is provided on a space-available basis and does not constitute admission to Cal Poly Pomona.

2. Are international students eligible to enroll through Open University?

The College of the Extended University is authorized to enroll international visa holders who are able to establish that they are maintaining their non-immigrant status with their sponsoring organizations. The College of the Extended University does not issue form I-20 or form DS-2019 and Open University students are not considered to be full time matriculated students for immigration purposes.

3. Why do I need to activate an account every quarter?

Open University students are only given BroncoDirect access on a quarter by quarter basis. For example, if you activate an account for Fall Quarter, you will only have access to BroncoDirect for Fall Quarter. Activating an account each quarter classes are taken gives you access to BroncoDirect each quarter.

4. How many units of Open University coursework can be used to meet degree requirements?

Undergraduates may transfer a maximum of 36 units of Open University credit towards a degree. Graduates may transfer a maximum of 13 units towards a degree.

5. If I have been disqualified from CPP or have a registration hold on my account, will I be allowed to register?

Students that have been disqualified from CPP may take classes through the Open University to raise their GPA to the minimum requirement. Individuals with a registration hold on their account are accepted on a case by case basis. Contact the CEU Registration Department at ceureg@cpp.edu to further inquire.

10. How do I find out if my course(s) meets degree requirements?

If you are a disqualified or former student at CPP, make an appointment with your academic advisor to verify that your class meets degree requirements. If you’re a visiting Open University student, you may use the Course Catalog to verify course descriptions.

11. How will I know if I am registered in class?

Courses in which you have registered will be visible in the Student Center section of your BroncoDirect account.

12. Do I need a parking permit to park on campus and where do I purchase one?

13. How do I get an official/unofficial transcript of my coursework?

Official transcripts can be purchased online through the National Student Clearinghouse at http://www.studentclearinghouse.com. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed through BroncoDirect if you still have access. If you don’t have an active account, you’ll need to request Official Transcripts from the National Student Clearinghouse.
