Bachelor of Arts (BA)
General Studies in Music option
The Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies meets the needs of students pursuing the study of music within a liberal arts context. Like other students within the Music Department, General Studies students build musical foundations in performance, musicianship, theory, and music history. Beyond this core musical study, however, General Studies students have increased opportunities to pursue studies within other disciplines. The goal of the General Studies B.A. degree is to produce well-rounded, critical thinkers who are prepared for lives as musicians and for graduate study, professional careers, or teaching opportunities.
No audition is required for admission. An audition is reguired for placement in studio lessons and for music industry studies applicant scholarships.
