David A. Sherf
Dave Sherf is principal with CHMWarnick, which is a hotel and recreational real estate strategic advisory fir. .
Prior to joining Warnick, he was Senior Vice President of Hilton Hotels Corporation in Beverly Hills, California, responsible for overseeing the company’s owned and joint-ventured real estate. This included the disposition of nearly $3 billion of domestic real estate, brand changes and major capital expenditures, all aimed to ensure Hilton’s owned hotels remain competitive in each market. He was also responsible for Owner Relations, including management contract retention and Hilton’s Leasing and Retail Division.
Dave also served as Senior Vice President of Managed Development and Franchising for Promus Hotel Corporation before Hilton acquired Promus, and was responsible for the development, joint venture, acquisition and franchising of full-service hotels, and supervision of the Design and Construction Division. He was also Senior Vice President of Development with Doubletree Hotels during which the chain grew from 8 hotels to more than 150 prior to the merger of Doubletree and Promus.
Dave is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, with a career path that began in the bar/entertainment business in Ithaca. After graduation, he joined Laventhol and Horwath in Miami as a consultant, obtained his CPA certificate, and became a partner in the firm. He moved to Denver, Colorado to handle hotel syndications, acquisitions and financing for a hotel management company and then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to join Doubletree Hotels when it was a fledgling company.
Dave was an Executive in Residence at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, a member of the Hotel Development Council of the Urban Land Institute and is on the Town Council for Paradise Valley, Az.
