Lab Function:

    To provide support for:

    • Analog and digital communication laboratories in ECE and ETE.
    • radio frequency (RF) design
    • System simulation and modeling analysis
    • Signal analysis and modeling
    • Senior and graduate project.

Lab Status:

  • It has twelve working stations equipped with
    • DELL new computer (Intel Core 7)
    • Rigol DSA815-TG Spectrum Analyzer
    • Rigol DG5071 Arbitrary Function Generator
    • Rigol DS2202 Digital Oscilloscope
    • Rigol DP1308A Prog. Power Supply
    • HP Power Supplies
    • Five Signal sources-DC to 6MHz
    • Filter, tunable-10 Hz to 1MHz
    • Krohn-Hite filters.

    Printers-1 Blk/White, 1 Color

Communications Lab

Current Problems with the Laboratory:

Lack of:

  • Noise source-difficult to make SNR experiments or measurements
  • Tunable filter above 1 MHz- not able to model communication systems above 1 MHz

Equipment Needs:

  1. Twelve Noise sources
  2. Twelve Tunable filters for above 1 MHz
