Dr. Cordelia Ontiveros

Dr. Cordelia Ontiveros, Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services for the College of Engineering, Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering, and a CPP alumna, is committed to the educational mission of the CSU and to providing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to be successful. 

Dr. Winny Dong

Dr. Winny Dong is a professor of Materials Science and the Program Director for the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. Her goal at CPP is to diversify the engineering workforce. Her research focuses on high surface area ceramics which can be characterized by the Atomic Force Microscope.

Dr. Angela Shih

Dr. Angela Shih is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Department Chair for the Mechanical Engineering Department. She uses Legos in the classroom to introduce the concept of engineering design, and to motivate and engage students to ‘learn by doing’ engineering early in their college career.

Dr. Norali Pernalete

Dr. Norali Pernalete is a professor of Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology. She engages in team-based learning and innovative research in rehabilitation robotics and the creation of the Robotic Haptic System.  Dr.  Pernalete’s research improves the hand-eye coordination in children diagnosed with poor graphomotor skills using a Robotic mapping from a haptic user interface to a virtual environment. 

Dr. Seema C. Shah-Fairbank is an assistant professor in Civil Engineering. She teaches courses in hydrology, hydraulics and environmental engineering. Dr. Shah-Fairbank is currently serving as the student section advisor for SWE and co-advisor for the American Societies of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She plans to work within our communities looking at developing solutions to river erosion and sedimentation.
