New - Unit 11 Collective Bargaining Agreement Update

We are pleased to announce that the newly bargained language in the Unit 11 Collective Bargaining Agreement which governs your employment provides for several pay increases for fiscal year 2016/17 (retroactive to July 1, 2016):

  • 3% General Salary Increase (GSI) for TAs and GAs – applies to all TAs and GAs active on or after 7/1/16 through the date of the State Controller’s Office mass update on 1/17/17
  • $.25 per hour increase for individual ISAs – applies to all ISAs active on or after 7/1/16 (includes newly and/or reappointed) through the date of mass update on 1/17/17
  • After the $.25/hr. is applied to the individual pay rates for ISA, those ISAs who are still below new minimum of $12.50/hr. will be brought up to $12.50/hr.
  • TA/GA CSU salary ranges to increase by 3%
  • ISA CSU minimum and maximum hourly rates ranges to increase by $.50/hr.

These base salary increases will be reflected in January 2017 pay warrants.  The pay warrants for retroactive pay, where applicable, to July 1, 2016, will begin issuing within 3 to 5 days of the mass update on January 17, 2017, and will be released on a flow basis as they are reconciled for accuracy.

The following pay changes will occur in fiscal year 2017/18* (beginning July 1, 2017):

  • 2% GSI TAs and GAs
  • $.25 per hour increase for ISAs
  • TA/GA CSU salary ranges to increase by 3%
  • ISA CSU minimum and maximum hourly rates ranges to increase by $.50/hr.

*2017/18 salary increases contingent upon receiving minimum state appropriation in the Governor’s multi-year budget

Additionally, Teaching Associates will be converted to salaried non-exempt status under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and will be required to track their leave time.
