Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP)

The Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) allows tenured faculty who are eligible for service retirement to retire and continue teaching for a maximum of five consecutive years at a time base of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's regular time base in the year preceding retirement.

Pre-Retirement Reduction in Time Base (PRTB)

The Pre-Retirement Reduction in Time Base (PRTB) allows tenured faculty who are eligible for service retirement to reduce their timebase and continue teaching for a maximum of five consecutive years.

Emeritus

Emeritus status is given upon retirement to faculty with a minimum of 12 years of university service or who have provided exceptional contributions to the university. Departments that have retiring faculty who should be considered for emeritus status are asked to send their recommendations to the Academic Senate Office (98-P2-8) before the April deadline.

Retired Annuitant

California laws permit former California State University (CSU) employees who retire and receive CalPERS retirement benefits to accept limited CSU post-retirement employment without reinstatement or penalty, under certain conditions. Please click on the link below for more information.

Separation

All University employees must complete the clearance process prior to departure from campus.
