Graduate School Fair
Cal Poly Pomona's chapter of Golden Key hosts one of the largest graduate and professional school recruiting events in California. Schools like Harvard, UC Berkley, USC, Yale, among other schools have come to recruit and talk about their programs. This event is held annually in Fall Quarter at the Quad.
This year's Graduate and Professional School Day will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 10am to 2pm. Location: Engineering Meadow
Every year, a reception is held to acknowledge and honor sophomores who have excelled in their academics. Those who are invited bring their family and friends to a reception, usually held on campus, where Golden Key members present them with certificates of achievement and inform them about Golden Key.
Golden Key inducts new members each year during a special ceremony on every chapter’s campus, where friends and family are welcome to share in the new member's honor. Each new member comes forward to receive a certificate of membership and a personalized press release announcing selection to the Society, which may be sent to a hometown newspaper. A reception follows where you will have a chance to mingle and meet chapter leaders and newly inducted honorary members.
Western Regional Conference
Cal Poly Pomona's Golden Key chapter is part of the Western Region. Each year, a Regional Conference is held in a different location. Chapters submit applications to host the event. At this conference, delegates from each chapter have the opportunity to attend or conduct workshops on chapter activities, personal development, and professional development. This conference is also a great way to network with surrounding chapters and make new friends. Cal Poly Pomona's chapter usually brings in the largest group.
Over the Summer, Golden Key holds its International Convention where delegates from all over the world come to network, develop their chapters, and meet professionals. Throughout the days of the convention, members attend workshops conducted by other members. It is here that new and continuing officers learn the skills necessary for organizing their chapters back home. Awards are given out to those chapters that have excelled in the past year. This convention is also one of the benefits of being a member--traveling! Location for 2010 will be Salt Lake City, Utah
