Come join a group where you will be supported and have an opportunity to be among peers who share a common understanding and experience.

What is a well-being workshop?

Well-being workshops are innovative strengths-based workshops designed to help you learn tools and coping strategies to deal with your thoughts, feelings, and situations that are challenging. Additionally, they will help you reflect more on what you want to get out of therapy.

RIO (Recognition, Insight, Openness) Workshop - 3 Session Workshop

The RIO workshop focuses on building skills to help you respond to distress by helping you better understand your concerns, see and approach the issues in a healthier way, and manage your different emotions. The RIO workshop takes a mindfulness approach to mental health.

ANXIETY TOOLBOX  (AT)

This workshop is specifically designed to help people who struggle with a variety of anxiety related concerns. The workshop is intended to help increase your understanding and knowledge about anxiety. The goal is to provide you with some skills to recognize and manage anxiety symptoms you may be experiencing.

BRIDGE

Building Relationship Intimacy and Dialogue Effectiveness is intended to help increase your understanding and knowledge about how to build and maintain healthy, effective relationships.

What's the next step?

The workshops are held over three sessions. It is recommended that you complete the workshops sequentially. Each workshop has a capacity of 10 participants, there is no need to pre-register, workshops are first-come, first-served.  The workshops are held in the Counseling Services department conference rooms, please check in to the reception area located in Building 66 (Bookstore) Room 116.  If after the completion of a workshop series, you would like brief-individual therapy, please contact 909-869-3220.

GROUPS & WORKSHOPS

Body Project

Are you struggling with your body? Have you noticed how your thoughts about your body negatively impact your motivation, self-esteem, or relationships? Are you passionate about promoting positive body image? Are you interested in becoming a Body Project student leader who advocates for healthy body ideals in your community? The Body Project is a body-acceptance program to improve body satisfaction and resist pressures to conform to unrealistic image standards. Guided by student leaders, the Body Project is a safe space to explore issues of identity, culture, and self-acceptance. This group is targeted towards female-identified students.

The LGBTQ Drop-In Group (8-Week Group)

Are you a CPP student who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer/Questioning? Are you out or not on campus? Come talk about your experience as an LGBTQ individual on campus in a safe & confidential space. The LGBTQ Drop-In Group is an opportunity to share your experience, gain support and validation and express any needs that are currently not being met in the campus community.

Day & Time: Tuesdays from 12-1 PM, beginning January 9, 2018
