When you live on campus, you meet new people with different backgrounds, beliefs, and interests -- people who may become lifelong friends. You'll also learn about the diversity and cultural issues that surround you. These experiences, and your many friendships, are valuable in seeing you through the transition from student to working professional... and beyond!
The Residence Halls are conveniently located on-campus and are within easy walking distance to the academic buildings, library, computer labs, dining areas, the Bronco Student Center and parking lots. All halls have a laundry room, study areas, recreation room/TV lounge, and community kitchenettes. Satellite television service and high-speed Internet connections are provided in each room. Each Residence Hall has their own particular theme living community for residents to enjoy. All Residence Halls are co-ed and non-smoking.
Phase I - Alamitos Hall, Aliso Hall, Encinitas Hall, Montecito Hall
The four red brick halls (Alamitos, Aliso, Encinitas and Montecito) have a similar design and layout. Each hall accommodates approximately 212 residents and staffed by five student Resident Advisors (RA) and a professional live-in Hall Coordinator. The Phase I halls feature a small community atmosphere, spacious lounges on the first two floors, and a common garden patio. Each floor is divided into two wings. The majority of floors are coed by alternate male and female wings. Accommodations are available in Encinitas Hall for students who have a mobility restriction. All halls have conveniently located laundry facilities. Each room measures approximately 11' x 15'.
Phase II - Cedritos Hall, Palmitas Hall
Both Cedritos and Palmitas Halls have a similar design and layout. Each hall accommodates approximately 185 students and staffed by five student Resident Advisors (RA) and a professional live-in Hall Coordinator. These halls offer the same small community atmosphere and amenities as the Phase One buildings. The only differences are the room shapes and the slightly smaller common area. All halls have conveniently located laundry facilities. Each room measures approximately 12' x 14'.
Uniquely designed to meet the needs of today's busy college student, this community offers suite-style accommodations that highlight privacy, comfort, and convenience. Offering beautiful views of the campus and the San Gabriel Mountains, each of the four floor plans has one interior entrance leading into a living room and kitchenette area, with individual bedrooms offering additional privacy.
The residential suites offer private balconies, elevators to the upper levels, large study room areas, and a convenient location on campus. This growing community will offer more amenities and conveniences than ever before!
Phase I of the Residential Suites includes two buildings: Vista Bonita and Vista del Sol.
Phase II of the Residential Suites, which opened Fall 2010, added three new buildings: Vista de las Estrellas, Vista de las Montañas and Vista de la Luna.
The Den is located in the heart of the suites community, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items late into the night. Adjacent to the diner is the Vista Convenience Store, stocked with snacks, groceries and a wide variety of prepared to-go meals. A great place to eat and meet!
