Dr. Winny Dong

Program Director

Dr. Winny Dong is a professor in Chemical and Materials Engineering and the director of the Office of Undergraduate Research at Cal Poly Pomona. She is the co-founder of the Entrepreneurship in STEAM (ESTEAM) program and the co-founder of the CPP-NASA Technology Assessment Program. Since joining Cal Poly Pomona in 2000, Winny has focused her efforts on creating opportunities where all faculty and students can develop their strengths and engage in innovative, interdisciplinary projects. She is proud to see that some of these efforts have resulted in an improved campus climate and increased access to high-quality education for all students.


Dr. Olukemi Sawyerr

Program Director

Dr. Olukemi Sawyerr is the inaugural Director of the Student Innovation Idea Lab (iLab) and Professor in the Management and Human Resources Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a founding faculty of the Entrepreneurship in STEAM (ESTEAM), the NASA Technology Screen Assessment, and the Startup NASA programs. She received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of North Texas. She has consulted for several organizations including the Ad Sales Division of Comcast, has taught executive education at the University of California Los Angeles’ Collins Center for Executive Education, and has held visiting professor positions at various universities including the University of Texas at Arlington, Hong Kong Baptist University, and Beijing Institute of Technology. Her research interests include strategic entrepreneurship in emerging economies.


Dr. Yu Sun

Dr. Yu Sun

Course Instructor

Dr. Yu Sun is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Cal Poly Pomona. He has expertise in the areas of cloud computing, mobile computing, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and large-scale distributed systems. Before joining Cal Poly Pomona, he was a post-doc research associate at Vanderbilt University, conducting research on applying Bluetooth sensors to build large-scale indoor navigation systems, which has been transferred into a startup company – Ziiio.

Robert Fabrize

Dr. Robert Fabrize

Bob Fabrize is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Cal Poly Pomona. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas with a minor in Anthropology. He serves as the Director of the Center for Consultative Selling.

He teaches professional selling and consumer behavior. His research interests focus on persuasion and motivation. An advisor to several student organizations, he enjoys mentoring business students.

Prior to entering academia, Dr. Fabrize sold cooperative direct mail, printing and graphic design.

Marguerite Mulhall

Prof. Marguerite Mulhall

Marguerite Mulhall has served as a lecturer in the Agribusiness and Food Industry Department since 2013. She teaches courses in Accounting, Financial Analysis and Data Management as well as Agriculture in the Modern World. Prior to Cal Poly, Marguerite taught in the College of Business Administration at Cal State Fullerton and was a fraud investigator and auditor with the United States Government Accountability Office. Her interests are introducing students to the wonders of accounting and data analytics and increasing the number of women and underrepresented minorities in STEAM majors and professions. Marguerite is a volunteer set director for the Maple Youth Ballet and serves on the Board of the non-profit For Families of Active Military. She earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a Masters in Computer Information Systems from George Washington University.


Preeti Wadhwa

Dr. Preeti Wadhwa

Dr. Preeti Wadhwa is a Management Faculty in the College of Business Administration at Cal Poly Pomona. Her primary areas of expertise are organizational innovation and transformation, mentoring and coaching, strategic human resource management, and entrepreneurship. Besides her doctorate in management, she has a masters in Sociology and a second masters in Leadership Development. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Wadhwa worked for both non-profit and for-profit sector. She has worked as a social development consultant for agencies such as the World Bank, United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP), United Nation Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), Plan International, etc. She also has experience of managing and developing human resources in for-profit sector. She has presented at various management conferences including Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, Americas Conference on Information Systems, OBTC (Teaching Conference for Management Educators), and United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Her work has been published in various outlets such as Academy of Management Learning and Education, European Business Review, AgBioForum, USASBE Proceedings, AMCIS proceedings, Southern Management Association Proceeding, and OBTC Proceedings.
