Cal Poly Pomona has a high academic standard it expects students to uphold. This includes academic achievement as well as intellectual integrity. The International Center is here to assist students in their adjustment to campus life and point students to resources available on campus. Below are important resources all students should be aware of and use.
Cal Poly Pomona's Learning Resource Center (LRC) is here to help you in your academic journey. Study skills resources include time management, managing anxiety and stress, avoiding plagiarism, notetaking, and test taking. We encourage you to utilize the services offered at LRC.
Tutoring is available on a one-on-one and small group basis. Students can seek help on Math, Science, Engineering, Business, Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, etc. (courses other than Reading and Writing).
The University Writing Center offers one-on-one and small group tutoring on essays, the GWT, application letters, memos, reports, research papers, and other assignments.
Taking the GWT is mandatory. All persons who receive undergraduate, graduate, or external degrees from Cal Poly Pomona must pass the GWT. Credential students may waive the GWT, but will need to pass it to be admitted to the master's program. It is recommended that you take this test as soon as you can to avoid delays in getting your degree.
Cal Poly Pomona considers violation of academic integrity as a serious offense. If you are new student adjusting to the US educational system, please be sure to visit Judicial Affairs website to understand the expectations surrounding academic honesty.
