Kristi teaches in the undergraduate program with a focus on plant identification, planting design and landscape design. Currently, she works with the Long Beach Water Department ‘Lawn-to-Garden’ program, providing residents with designs to conserve water and beautify their homes. She helped design the demonstration garden for the administration building of the Long Beach Water Department, which highlights the use of California native plants. Kristi is also working on sustainable landscape renovations for the Long Beach Fire Department at several stations throughout the City. She helped develop a master plan for the Friends of the Colorado Lagoon pro bono. Kristi volunteers for a regional building committee to design planting and irrigation plans for many building sites in the southern California area.
In addition to larger projects, Kristi’s plant expertise provides her the opportunity to work with individual homeowners on residential projects both large and small throughout southern California. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, hiking, gardening, golfing and her three Dachshunds.
