Prizes will be given away at all events throughout the week so make sure to attend and get a raffle ticket!


All Week, October 2-6

Scavenger Hunt

Location: The Library!

Learn your way around the library by following the clues. Collect stamps and solve QR code puzzles at various locations, and meet friendly librarians and staff along the way! All who finish the hunt will receive a prize and be entered into our grand prize raffle! Stop by the Circulation Desk located on the 2nd floor to pick up the form or print your own here!


Monday, October 2

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Back to School Book Sale

Location: Outside the Library

Be sure to stop by for a great bargain. Hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $1.

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Library Club Recruitment

Location: Outside the Library

Learn how to become involved in the Library Club. Fun events, tours, and activities are planned throughout the year.

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM MakMo Maker Mobile

Location: Knowledge Center, 2nd floor of the Library

Unleash your creativity with Keva Planks, Ozobots, and K-Nex. Don't forget to check out the 3D printer as well!

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Mario Kart Tournament and Button Making

Location: Knowledge Center, 2nd floor of the Library

Daily winners will be crowned in our Mario Kart Tournament. Only 16 students will be able to compete per day so make sure you sign up early to secure a spot! Update: Monday is full. To be placed on the waiting list email Ryan Rush at rrrush@cpp.edu.

Stop by our Button Making table adjacent to the tournament. Lots of fun designs will be provided.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Tips to Help You Succeed

Location: Knowledge Center, 2nd floor of the Library

Library staff will provide quick presentations (5 minutes or less) giving students tips on how to find books, articles, primary sources; navigate the library website; request materials from other libraries, and more. Complete list as follows:

Location: Knowledge Center, 2nd floor of the Library

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Exhibit Tour, Horse Drawn: Equine Illustrations and Artistry in Books

Location: W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library, Ground Level next to Starbucks

Archivist Alexis Adkins will walk attendees through the latest exhibition in the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library which explores themes in equine artistry and the artwork of several influential equine artists.

Light refreshments will be served.


Wednesday, October 4

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Meet Your Librarian

Location: Knowledge Center, 2nd floor of the Library

Stop by the Knowledge Center to meet your librarian. Each major has a dedicated librarian who can help you with your assignments, research needs and more so make sure you know who that person is. We will be offering a fun fishing game for prizes so make sure you participate.

Assistant Archivist Elizabeth Gomez will walk attendees through the latest exhibition in Special Collections and Archives which explores the transformative years when Cal Poly Pomona went from an all-male school to a coed university.
