Extended Hours, Additional Workshops, and Online Tutoring!!
Thanks to the Student Success Fee students paid this academic year, the LRC is now able to offer extended tutoring hours from 5pm to 7pm Monday through Thursday. We hope that these additional hours will help to serve our students that have class or work during the day, and are not be able to attend our regular 9am to 5pm tutoring hours. In addition to these extended hours, the Student Success Fee has also been utilized to facilitate more workshops for classes such as Math 10, 11, 12, 105, 106, 112, 114-116, and 120, as well as Grammar and GWT Workshops. Please see our Workshop Schedule for information on our upcoming workshops! Beginning Spring Quarter 2014, the LRC will offer Online Writing Tutoring. LRC Improvements in Services and System
The Learning Resource Center is pleased to announce a number of exciting developments designed to help improve service to Cal Poly Pomona students. These changes include restructuring the LRC's organization and the implementation of new tracking software:
- Additional resources have allowed the LRC to expand and diversify the tutoring offered by Bronco Tutoring (formerly ASI and MaSH) and the University Writing Center (UWC).
- Tutoring in all subjects (including Math, Science and Engineering) is now offered through Bronco Tutoring (except Reading and Writing). Bronco Tutoring provides one-on-one and group tutoring sessions by appointment and walk-in.
- The Accudemia scheduling system streamlines the appointment process, allowing students to schedule, track, change future appointments, and view past appointments. The system can be accessed through the LRC website home page or by visiting: https://calpoly.accudemia.net/Login.aspx. Accudemia also allows the LRC to easily track and improve its services.
Expanding tutoring services and easing the scheduling process will help the LRC in its continued mission to promote student success through tutoring, workshops, and study skills development.
Applications for CPU 401:
To help provide services to students who have faced difficulty in passing the GWT exam, Cal Poly Pomona offers CPU 401, a course which fulfills the requirement of the GWT exam.
