Personal Stuff

I teach my students that the universe has no center, but of course my wife, Kerean, and our daughters, Maia Helena and Kira Veronica, are the center of mine.

I spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the East African nation of Tanzania, teaching Physics and Mathematics at Moshi Technical Secondary School, located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania. I developed the Tanzania Pages in 2003, primarily to share stories and photos of my time living and teaching there. Among my most memorable Tanzania experiences: leading student groups to the summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru. I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro a second time as a private climber on a different route.
