Richard Lapidus (Rich)
Dean, College of Business Administration
Richard Lapidus took the helm of Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration as dean in July 2009.
Lapidus was previously associate dean of administration and associate professor in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has also served as chair of the marketing department.
The new dean brings a wealth of experience as a researcher and a faculty member. His current research topics include customer satisfaction, green advertising and customer attitudes toward pirated merchandise. He has published numerous articles on customer service and work-related stress. A frequent presenter at conferences and symposiums, Lapidus speaks on both academic and industry-related subjects.
Lapidus sits on the Board of Directors of the Pomona Chamber of Commerce and is past president of the Marketing Educators’ Association and the American Marketing Association - Las Vegas Professional Chapter.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington, a master’s degree in marketing from CSU Long Beach and his doctoral degree in marketing from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
