ZERO TO THREE, Chief Development Officer
As Chief Development Officer for ZERO TO THREE, Michelle Payne is responsible for providing strategic vision and collaborative leadership for an effective and comprehensive communications and revenue development strategy. Her fifteen years of experience in nonprofit organizations includes successful work at the local, national and international level.
Ms. Payne’s previous experience includes guiding a $30 million per year development department at National Wildlife Federation, overseeing a $16 million per year donor-advised grant making program and providing strategic philanthropic advice to corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals at Charities Aid Foundation America, and supporting significant growth and expansion in fundraising efforts at several other nonprofits. Her expertise includes strategic planning, grant writing, major donor solicitation and fundraising event planning.
Ms. Payne holds a BA from Allegheny College, and has completed master’s coursework in Nonprofit Management at George Mason University. She volunteers her time as a career mentor for students at Allegheny College, as a coach for the Blessed Sacrament School track and field team, and supporting the disaster relief ministry at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and three children.
