Mickey S. Segal
Nigro Karlin Segal & Feldstein LLP, Managing Partner
Comprehensive Campaign, Vice Chair, Planned Giving
Accounting majors do not necessarily interact only with numbers. Mickey Segal, for example, has more interesting interactions than one might calculate in his position as managing partner of Nigro Karlin Segal & Feldstein LLP of Los Angeles, Certified Public Accountants. Specializing in the representation of clients who are prominent in the entertainment industry and sports world, the firm, started in 1981, has more than 150 employees. Segal is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Since graduating cum laude in 1980 with a BS in accounting from Cal Poly Pomona, Segal has been inducted into the university’s Accounting Hall of Fame in 1997, received a 1998 Distinguished Alumni Award and served as a commencement speaker in 1999. He currently serves on the University Educational Trust and continues to support Cal Poly Pomona in various ways, from helping to secure high-profile entertainers to perform at university fundraising events to funding scholarships for accounting students. He believes being selected to participate in the university’s innovative new paraprofessional program when he was an undergraduate gave him on-the-job experience that was instrumental in his professional success.
Segal has also played a strong role in the community having served on the Arcadia City Council and as mayor. He serves as board chairman for Arcadia Methodist Hospital and has chaired several multi-million dollar capital campaigns for several organizations.
Segal and his wife, Lee, a Cal Poly Pomona alumna with a degree in foods and nutrition, have three children and live in Arcadia. He enjoys playing golf, watching sports and participating in community activities.
