Freshman Parent and Family Program

Program Dates and Description

Parents and family members play an important role in student success at Cal Poly Pomona. The Parent/Family/Guest Orientation is an optional one-day program that provides the necessary tools and information needed to support student success. This program is separate from the student program and is designed specifically for parents and family members.

You can view the dates for Freshmen Orientation programs here. The Freshmen Parent, Family, and Guest program takes place on the first day of their student's program.

Guest Registration:

Students can register their guest when they register for Orientation on BroncoDirect

Cost

Summer 2017 Cost for parents, family, and guests will be $50. Cost is per person above the age of 12 and you must register in advance. Cost includes meals and materials.

What Will I Do?

At the Parent/Family Program you will receive presentations/workshops about:

  • Welcome from members and leaders of the campus community

  • Financial Aid and Money Matters

  • Student Health Services

  • Career Center

  • Campus Safety

  • Academic Opportunities

  • Campus Involvement

  • Staying on Track to Graduation

  • Campus Services and Resources

What Will I Receive?

  • Campus Tour

  • Parent Resource Guide

  • Morning refreshments, lunch, and dinner

  • Visit to the Campus Bookstore

Freshmen Parents, Family and Guests will attend on Day One of your student’s Freshmen Orientation program.

La orientación para Padres/Familia/Invitados es un programa opcional de un día que ofrece las herramientas e información necesaria para apoyar el éxito del estudiante. Este programa es diferente al programa para estudiantes y está diseñado específicamente para los padres y miembros de familia. Invitamos a los padres y miembros de familia.
