Problem C4:
Consider the two mass-spring set-ups shown below. Both springs have an
object of mass m attached at the end. The spring on the left has a spring constant of k. When it is
released from rest, it falls a distance d before coming back up and oscillating.
The spring on the right has a spring constant of k/n_{1}. When released from rest
the object falls a distance of n_{2}d before coming back up and oscillating. If the
total mechanical energy of the left spring-mass system is E_{0}, what is the
total mechanical energy of the right spring-mass system? If the energy for this
mass-spring system is E = n_{3} E_{0}, what is n_{3}? Note that all
integers are unitless.
