A car is driving with a speed of v/n2, where v is the speed
of sound in air. If n2 is positive, the car is driving
towards you, and if n2 is negative the car is driving away
from you. You are standing on the ground. The driver honks the car's horn, which has a frequency of
n1 Hz. See the figure below. What is the frequency of the horn's sound
that you hear? If you hear a frequency of n3 Hz,
what is n3? Note that n1 and n3 have units of
Hz, and n2 is unitless.
