Electricity: Transportation Without Petroleum

Tom Gage

President & CEO, AC Propulsion

Electric cars reduce petroleum dependence by drawing transportation energy from the grid. Improving technology and feature value are reducing market barriers for electric vehicles, but economic barriers remain. En masse, elecric cars can provide a distributed, dispatchable, energy and power resource for the grid. An electric vehicle fleet can provide UPS functions, ancillary services, and buffering of intermittent renewables. This vehicle-to-grid synergy creates new economic value streams that can address economic barriers.

Refreshments at 4:00 PM. Seminar begins at 4:10 PM.
