Presidents Council Scholars
Cal Poly Pomona recognizes outstanding student achievement through the President’s Council Scholars program. Considered the most prestigious scholarship series at the university, President's Council Scholarships have been awarded to 20 undergraduate and four graduate students, who represent each of the academic colleges.
Founded in 1983, the program awards a select group of students each year based on academic and co-curricular excellence rather than need. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate significant contributions to the community during their university years. Each of the endowed scholarships is named by its benefactor and provides a $3,000 award for the recipient.
The President's Council scholarships are awarded each year to undergraduate students from each of the University's eight academic colleges, and to graduate students from the College of Engineering and CLASS. The scholarship check is given to the selected scholars by the University President at a special presentation at the beginning of Fall Quarter.
