The CSU has issued an updated Volunteer Policy, to provide guidance, clarification, and best practices for CSU volunteer programs. This update includes further clarification on the definition of volunteers, as well as additional information regarding background checks for volunteers. 

Volunteers may be subject to a background check.


Some volunteer assignments may require a background check to be satisfactorily completed before our volunteer can start their assignment.  The background check consists of the following:  Employment verification, education verification, reference checks, and checks of the following systems and databases:  National Social Security Number/Address Locator, Felony/Misdemeanor, National Criminal Database, Federal Criminal, Department of Motor Vehicles, and National Sex Offender Registry.
