On March 25, 2004, Renford Reese, pictured (L-R) with Assemblywoman Gloria Negrete McLeod and Assemblymen Jerome Horton, Mark Ridley-Thomas, and Meryvn Dymally. Reese was introduced on the floor of the California State Assembly and Senate. He was given a resolution by Assemblyman Ridley-Thomas (48th Assembly District) for his work with the Colorful Flags program and his outstanding commitment to community outreach.

Professor Reese shares a light moment with California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez as he discusses the significance of the Colorful Flags concept.

On March 30, 2004, at the LAPD Police Academy, Professor Reese discusses his efforts lecturing to inmates in California State prisons and his book American Paradox to California Attorney General Bill Lockyer.
