THE IAP – WHAT IS IT & IS IT ON YOUR TO DO LIST?

IAPIAP stands for Individual Academic Plan. Your IAP is a snapshot of your MyPlanner filled out to your anticipated graduation date.

In April, 5,750 students who were within 0-60 of graduating received the notice to complete their IAP on their BroncoDirect To Do list.

5 TIPS FOR PLANNING FOR SEMESTER CONVERSION
  1. Find out if you can graduate under the quarter system by filling our MyPlanner.
  2. Complete any sequence courses you have already started under quarters. This will make the transition more straight forward.
  3. If you need a class not being offered in the quarter that you need it, be sure to tell your department. Many departments are keeping track of student demand and adding sections when demand is high.
  4. Annual tuition will be divided into two payments once the campus switches to semesters for 2018-19. (Under quarters, payments are divided into three payments.)
  5. For assistance with MyPlanner or filling out your IAP, visit your college’s advising center or seek out your Student Success Ambassador. You can find contacts here.
MORE THAN 650 CLASSES OFFERED FOR SUMMER 2017

Summer session is offering more than 650 courses, including many high demand classes. You may be able to complete one or more of your degree requirements and make summer your “fast pass to graduation.” A second summer registration period for students will begin May 22 and end June 8. Summer Add/Drop begins June 12.

It's not too late to register for summer classesLimited financial aid, including some grant money, is available for Cal Poly Pomona students who have applied for financial aid and have remaining eligibility for the 2016-17 school year.

“We really want to encourage students to take advantage of the summer sessions,” says Sepehr Eskandari, interim associate vice president for academic planning and faculty affairs. “It’s a great way to take required courses, especially those in high demand, and stay on track for graduation.”

MyPLANNER DATA BEING USED TO SCHEDULE SUMMER, FALL & WINTER CLASSES

Colleges and departments are using MyPlanner aggregated data to plan their courses through spring quarter 2018. Where demand is high for seats, colleges are trying to add course sections when they can. As more students complete MyPlanner, the data will provide departments with increasingly accurate forecasts of course demand. If there are impacted classes that you need, be sure to complete your MyPlanner.
