Election Summary - 2015

The Academic Senate is beginning its election cycle for the Winter and Spring quarters.  The summary of open seats and tentative timelines are detailed in the summary below.

University wide Elected Committees

  • EXCEPTIONAL LEVELS OF SERVICE TO STUDENTS COMMITTEE (EATC) -- AS-2471-145/FA, Assigned Time for Exceptional Levels of Service to Students, requires that a committee be elected to review the applications for the Assigned Time for Exceptional Levels of Service to Students.  The Exceptional Levels of Service to Students Committee (EATC) shall be composed of one tenure-track faculty representative from each college and one representative from the University Library and related areas, through an election conducted by the Academic Senate, and one student appointed by the Associated Students, Inc. Each member serves a one academic year term. Applicants for assigned time under this policy are not eligible to serve on this committee. The EATC will complete its work this academic year.     URTP COMMITTEE - COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING -- EXTENDED DEADLINE -- APRIL 22, 2015 (DEADLINE -- APRIL 15, 2015).
    COLLEGE RTP COMMITTEES -- ALL COLLEGES - DEADLINE -UNTIL FILLED

    UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM COMMITTEE Faculty representatives are needed to serve on the University Curriculum Committee from Agriculture, Business, Collins, Environmental Design, and Library/Related Areas (2016) constituency.  The term is for two years.  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu EXTENDED DEADLINE - APRIL 27, 2015 AT NOON (Friday, April 17, 2015)


    COUNCIL FOR GRADUATE AND FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP - The College of Agriculture needs to elect a representative to the Council for Graduate and Faculty Scholarship.  The term is for two years. Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE -- UNTIL FILLED

    FACULTY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Related Areas/CAPS and The College of Engineering need to elect one representative to the Faculty Development Advisory Committee.  All tenure track faculty and librarians are eligible to be a candidate.  The term is for three years.     2014-15 Academic Senate Standing Committees

    The Academic Senate is recruiting for Academic Senate standing committees members for 2014-15 Interested individuals should submit the Service Opportunities application. THE SEATS ARE AT LARGE AND ALL CONSTITUENTS ARE ELIGIBLE. -- DEADLINE -- UNTIL FILLED

University Service Opportunities

CPP BRONCO PRIDE TRADITIONS COMMITTEE – Two faculty members are needed to serve on the CPP Bronco Pride Traditions Committee. The Commitee is being established with members from all divisions to recognize existing Cal Poly Pomona traditions research other’s traditional practices, create new traditions and develop methods to formalize Cal Poly Pomona’s unique traditions.  The Committee will meet approximately once or twice a month with some subcommittee work.  It is anticipated that the committee may work over the Summer.  The first meeting will be in May.  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE – MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2015 AT 5 P.M.

 

Committee for the Kellogg Distinguished Public Lecture Series – Up to six full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members are are needed to serve on the Committee for the Kellogg Distinguished Public Lecture Series.  The term is for one year.  The Committee will begin its work in Spring 2015 and continue through Spring 2016.   The Committee meets once a quarter.  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE UNTIL FILLED (Friday, April 17, 2015 at noon)

 

Outstanding Staff Award Committee - Two faculty members are needed to serve on the Outstanding Staff Award Committee.  The members will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating nominations as well as two meetings to select recipients.  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE UNTIL FILLED (Friday, April 17, 2015 at noon)

 

Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) The Faculty Athletic Representative positon is open.  The term is for two years with no restrictions on successive terms.  The link provides a summary of the duties and the interview timeline.  Interested individuals should submit their name and the information requested to senate@cpp.edu by Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at noon.

 

Foundation Board of Directors – One faculty representative is needed to serve on the Foundation Board of Directors.  The term is for three years (2018).  Interested individuals should submit their name and information requested to senate@cpp.edu by Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at noon.

MPP Review Committees

MPP REVIEW COMMITTEE – JOHN MCGUTHRY, VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER --  –One full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members is needed for the MPP Review Committee of John McGuthry, Vice President and Chief Information Officer. The Committee will begin its work this fall and will continue into winter and spring. Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE --UNTIL FILLED (Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at noon)

 

MPP REVIEW  COMMITTEE – SHARON HILLES, DEAN, CLASS – Four full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members are needed for the MPP Review Committee of Dr. Sharon Hilles, Dean College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences.   The Committee will begin its work this fall and will continue into winter and spring.  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE - UNTIL FILLED

 

MPP REVIEW COMMITTEE – SHANTHI SRINIVAS, AVP FOR ACADEMIC PLANNING, POLICY AND FACULTY AFFAIRS – Two full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members are needed for the MPP Review Committee of Dr. Shanthi Srinivas, AVP For Academic Planning, Policy and Faculty Affairs.    The Committee will begin its work this fall and will continue into winter and spring .  Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@cpp.edu DEADLINE - UNTIL FILLED

 

Search Committees

SEARCH COMMITTEE –VICE PRESIDENT FOR UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT -- –One full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member is needed for the Search Committee for the Vice President for University Advancement. The first committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2015.   The university would like to make an appointment before the end of spring quarter 2015.
