Mona brings a student centered approach, welcoming smile and caring attitude to her interactions with students as one of the receptionists for student health. She is willing to take on new opportunities and open to learning in order to provide high quality services to our students. A team player, Mona goes above and beyond by taking on new responsibilities to support the operations of the department and services to students.As a first point of contact for Student Health & Counseling Services, whether in person or over the telephone, Mona touches the lives of many students who are seeking healthcare services and promotes a culture of caring within the campus community.

Mona will spend the time with a student who is uncertain about his/her inquiry for healthcare services to ask the questions to learn more about the student’s healthcare concerns/needs and to assist the student to access the appropriate type of services. In her clinical assistant duties, Mona spends the time with students to help them feel comfortable when taking their vital signs and preparation for the appointment with the provider.

Mona upholds patient confidentiality and displays sensitivity when discussing personal items with students.
Mona is also responsible for the money transactions and deposits for student health. She accepts this responsibility with integrity and accuracy.Providing accurate information to students is important to Mona. She will take the time to find out the correct answer. Additionally, Mona’s voice is heard by those who call the general health services number as she has recorded all the messages; and re-recorded when the system went down earlier this fall.Mona’s attention to detail is notable as she has the responsibility for inputting the provider’s schedules onto the calendar.
