Visit Reyna Grande's Childhood Neighborhood
In the 2017 CPP Common Read, Reyna Grande's The Distance Between Us, the author describes growing up in the United States as an undocumented immigrant. After crossing the border, Grande spends her childhood in Highland Park, a neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles.
On March 30, join FYE on a daylong tour of Highland Park. Students will be challenged to explore compassion, justice, creativity, and community through engagement, personal risk-taking and reflection.
Lunch and dinner will be provided.
