This empowering day is designed to uplift and equip women with the tools they need to thrive in the workplace. With Melissa's dynamic and inspiring presentations, participants will delve into the crucial topic of integrity-based leadership and its role in mitigating common challenges faced by women in professional settings. Throughout the event, attendees will engage in thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities that foster a strong sense of community and support.

President Coley to Receive ACE Award

President Soraya M. Coley has been selected to receive the 2023 American Council on Education (ACE) Donna Shavlik Award, which honors an individual who demonstrates a sustained commitment to advancing women in higher education. Coley has spent her decades-long career primarily in the California State University system in various roles, including lecturer, tenured faculty member, department chair, dean, provost and president. As the ACE Southern California Women’s Network presidential sponsor, she is working on creating multiple leadership pathways for women at various stages in their academic careers. Currently, her leadership team is 75 percent women. “I have benefitted so greatly from my mentors and supporters, and I pay that forward however possible. I owe gratitude to them all, especially those who saw potential in me that I never imagined,” said Coley.
