Residential Intensive Summer Education Program

The RISE program is designed to facilitate the transition of students by developing a strong sense of community, campus connectiveness, support services, and leadership development of entering freshmen. We do this by providing faculty, staff, and student support to students related to their academic, personal, and professional goals.

Summer Program

The four-day, three-night summer program is the beginning of the RISE program for entering first-time freshmen. During the program CPP freshmen will participate in various skill-building, leadership, and community building workshops designed to ensure their success as they transition to Cal Poly Pomona. The program is coordinated by Admissions & Enrollment Planning professional staff in conjunction with CPP students, faculty, and staff.

We achieve our goals by:

· Providing summer and academic year programs
· Connecting students with key campus personnel that will assist them as they navigate Cal Poly Pomona
· Celebrating their academic, personal, and community achievements
· Providing culturally relevant lectures, workshops, and opportunities for campus and community engagement
· Developing campus, community, and student leaders
