Cal Poly Pomona IHSA Horse Show Team

About The Team

The CPP Equestrian Team is devoted to offering Cal Poly students opportunities to develop their horsemanship regardless of horse and riding experience. Advanced riders may choose to compete in hunt seat or western equitation as a part of IHSA, the largest intercollegiate equestrian organization in the nation.

Horse ownership is not a prerequisite to joining. Our riders train on our twelve team mounts and are responsible for all aspects of their care.

The team rides on campus at Cal Poly’s own W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center. In addition to the use of its facilities, the Arabian Center affords team members access to the support and guidance of its equine professionals and staff.

General Meetings are held every Tuesday during fall and spring semester in Building 2, Room 112, at noon.

About IHSA

IHSA provides collegiate riders of all skills the opportunity to compete individually and as teams in equestrian competition. It was founded on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows regardless of his or her riding ability or financial status.

The team is a member of zone 8, region 2 which includes teams from 14 area colleges and universities from California and Arizona.
