The AGRIscapes Center drew thousands of people this fall for the annual Pumpkin Festival, the pumpkin patch, and a new event, Holidays on the Farm.

An estimated 47,000 people came the weekend of Oct. 6 and 7 for the Pumpkin Festival. They enjoyed pie-eating, costume and pumpkin-seed spitting contests; hay rides; the corn maze; cow milking demonstrations; the Insect Fair; live music; and – of course – picking out the perfect pumpkins.

After the Pumpkin Festival, the pumpkin patch remained open for the rest of the month. An estimated 80,000 people visited the patch. Although there were fewer activities, admission was free.

Meanwhile, AGRIscapes introduced a new event, the Holidays on the Farm, on the weekend of Dec. 1 and 2. It featured a snow slide and play area, live music, an artisans’ village, Santa’s Farm and North Pole Fun Zone for kids.

The event was preceded by the opening of a Christmas tree lot on Nov. 23 by Starberry Farms of San Dimas. The lot is expected to remain open until Dec. 23.

In addition, the AGRIscapes greenhouses kicked off its poinsettia plant sale Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and Dec. 6 and 7. The sale continues Dec. 14 and 15. The plants also are on sale in the Farm Store during the week.

Plans are underway at AGRIscapes for the Spring on the Farm Festival & Tractor Show and school field trips, expanded pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, and other related activities and the new Discovery Farm area.
